THE COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION HOSTS MEMBERSIPS EVENT FOCUSED
ON THE RISE OF COUNTRY AND LATIN MUSIC
CMA’s Ongoing MemberSIPS Programming Offers Country Music Professionals the Opportunity to Gather and Discuss Important Topics in the Music Business
The Country Music Association welcomed CMA members to its Nashville HQ on Tuesday, Oct. 17 for a MemberSIPS event focused on the rise of Country and Latin music, exploring how current trends are reflected in various areas of the industry including in the live space, consumption and A&R.
With the rapid growth both Country and Latin music genres are experiencing, industry professionals from both genres came together to discuss the importance of riding the momentum. Moderated by Michael Farris (CMA Senior Director, Business Strategy & Insights), panelists John Murphy (Luminate Data Vice President, Publishing and Financial Solutions) and Stephanie Davenport (Warner Music Nashville Senior Director, A&R) shared their thoughts about Country Music’s rapid growth throughout the last year, wins for the genre and opportunities with comparable genres such as Latin music. The discussion centered around how each genre could benefit from collaboration and what that collaboration could potentially look like.
As the premier trade association supporting individuals within the Country Music industry, CMA created MemberSIPS to cater to its members’ professional development needs—offering thematic presentations, discussions and gatherings, and providing members a networking opportunity with like-minded professionals while enjoying a beverage with one another.
