NASHVILLE—The three-hour telecast of “The 52nd Annual CMA Awards” led ABC to dominate Wednesday night, ranking #1 in all six half-hours of primetime with Total Viewers and Adults 18-49. During primetime, ABC beat its nearest competition by 3.2 million viewers (+46% – 10.1 million vs. 6.9 million – NBC) and by 62% in Adults 18-49 (2.1/9 vs. 1.3/5 – Fox). ABC delivered the highest rating on any night this season with entertainment programming. ABC saw Wednesday night season highs with its best non-sports performance since last year’s CMA Awards on Nov. 8, 2017.
“The 52nd Annual CMA Awards” was the No. 1 most socially engaged primetime program on Wednesday, according to Nielsen Social Guide. #CMAawards was the No. 1 trending topic worldwide.
“The 52nd Annual CMA Awards,” Country Music’s Biggest Night™, was hosted for the 11th consecutive year by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and aired live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, Nov. 14 on the ABC Television Network.
